Password Sharing is quite simply what it says on the tin. It is sharing your password with people who are not part of your household for them to use the same service as you. It is really important to note that Password Sharing is not a technology or a security problem - it is a problem created by a standard offering that does not meet the needs of all your subscribers. It should be seen as an opportunity for new customer acquisition or increasing the ARPU of your subscriber base.
Password sharing involves two parties,
Sharer - A paying subscriber who is “sharing” their credentials with friends or family either intentionally or accidentally (more below on this).
Borrower - A non-paying viewer who is “borrowing” a paying subscriber’s credentials to use the service.
