A Synamedia Cloud Portal account groups together all the resources you will have access to on the platform. Billing is done at the level of the account. Accounts can have a number of projects, users and cloud connectors.
A project (also known as a tenant) groups together everything you need to deploy a web application on the Senza platform. All cloud connectors that are associated with a project will show the same web application.
Someone who has access to an account. When you sign up we’ll create an admin user for you, and then you can invite other users as needed.
Users can have roles that correspond to the tasks they need to perform, such as admins, web developers and viewers. Features are enabled in the Senza Console depending upon the roles the user has.
Each project has an application URL. When cloud connectors in the project start up, or the user hits the home button, they will be taken initially do that link. You can change the application URL for a project on the Senza Console home page.
Someone who enjoys using your app to watch video on a cloud connector, for example a subscriber to a TV service.
An inexpensive device that streams web apps and video content from the cloud and displays it on a television over HDMI.
An entry in the list of devices that doesn't correspond to a physical device. You can launch the Simulator for a virtual device, even if you don't have a physical device.
A web page that allows you to preview the Senza experience on your computer, even if you don't have a physical cloud connector. Useful for developing and testing applications.
An interface that lets you inspect the contents of a web page, see console output and monitor network traffic. Senza lets you connect the Chrome debugger tools to the browser in the cloud, whether you're using a cloud connector or the simulator.
A JavaScript library that can be imported into your web application and provides you with a way to interact with the Senza platform. You can stream video content directly to the cloud connector, move the browser between foreground and background mode, receive messages sent via the API, and more.
When the browser is running, it is consuming compute resources and streaming the user interface to the cloud connector. Use of the Senza platform is billed by the minute when in foreground mode.
When the browser is not running, it is not consuming compute resources and the cloud connector streams video content instead. Usage is not billed when in background mode.
From your app's point of view, the HTML5 video player in the browser. Web apps often use the Shaka player for playing video content.
From your app's point of view, the video player that is embedded in the cloud connector. Your app can use the client library to control the remote player, such as specifying the URL of the video content and switching to background mode.
