Summary

  • A Wi-Fi network with a steady connection and password authentication

  • A television with an HDMI port

  • An available USB power port

Wi-Fi

The cloud connector connects to the internet over Wi-Fi. When a viewer sets up the device for the first time, they can use an app on their mobile device to configure the device’s Wi-Fi connection. The cloud connector requires a Wi-Fi network with a conventional network name and password; it does not support public or corporate wifi networks that require a web-based login.

Because the cloud connector streams video from the internet, it requires access to a reliable Wi-Fi network with a steady connection. It works best with a connection that supports 10 megabits per second of bandwidth. It helps if the cloud connector is near the Wi-Fi router; if this is not possible it may be helpful to use a Wi-Fi repeater.

The cloud connector can stream video over a Wi-Fi network that connects to the internet using a 4G or 5G cellular network. If you want to a connect to a mobile phone’s personal hotspot, you would need to use a different mobile device to configure the connection.

Television

The cloud connector requires a television with an HDMI port. It works best with televisions that support full HD resolution.

You can also use a computer for development using an HDMI input adapter.

Power

The cloud connector is powered via a USB-C port, and includes a USB-C to USB-A cable. You can plug into the USB-A port on a television, a USB power supply (not included), or a computer.
