Segment Targeting is a targeting capability in Iris Ad Manager that allows you to focus on a specific audience segment with your Campaign and Line Items. Utilizing Segment Targeting in Iris Ad Manager offers advantages such as enabling advertisers to customize their campaigns for specific user groups that share common characteristics or behavior.
For addressable advertising in linear broadcast, targeting a segment is mandatory for Line Items.
For OTT Linear and OTT VOD, the use of a segment is optional. This means that instead of relying on user segments, real-time signals such as device, geo location, KVP, and content metadata are utilized for targeting.
The multi-segment targeting feature enables targeting a Campaign and Line Item to a combination of segments. This is done by defining a Boolean expression that includes multiple predefined segments in the Line Item's segmentId field.
The multi-segment targeting feature is available only for campaign V2 API users. This option is available only for OTT Line Items.
