A Live Events swimlane is a Linear TV Events swimlane that shows events which are currently, or about to be, live. An event is considered live when it is marked with the LiveEventFlag in the ingest file. The swimlane is populated automatically from the linear schedule: operators define the rules and the platform fills the swimlane with the matching live events.
Live Events is one of three Program Type options available when the swimlane type is Events:
Channel Ordering – events ordered by channel.
Live Events – events flagged as live in the ingest, optionally filtered by genre.
Events by Genres – events filtered by one or more event genres (live flag not required).
Live events are events that are marked as ‘LiveEventFlag’ in the ingest file.
The Live Events configuration is set on the Content Rules page of the swimlane wizard, under the Program Type section.

When editing an existing swimlane the Program Type selector is disabled, so a swimlane cannot be switched between Channel Ordering, Live Events and Events by Genres after creation. To change the type, create a new swimlane.
Event genres (optional for Live Events)
Use Select Event Genres from Genres list to restrict the swimlane to events in specific genres:
Live Events – genres are optional. With none selected, all live-flagged events qualify; with one or more selected, only live events in those genres are shown.
Events by Genres – at least one genre is required.

Minutes Before Event Start Time
This numeric field controls how far ahead the swimlane looks: the swimlane shows events that start in the next x minutes.
Default 0; allowed range 0–1000.
0 means only events that are live right now.
A positive value (for example 30) also includes upcoming events that start within that many minutes.

On the Display Rules page set, at minimum:
Maximum items in the swimlane – the maximum number of events shown.
Poster orientation – portrait or landscape.
Live Events swimlanes use direct play: selecting an event starts playback directly rather than opening a details page.

Open the tab where the swimlane should appear and click Add Swimlane.
Choose Add new swimlane, select the target tab, then open the wizard.
Metadata page: enter the title, description and, optionally, posters.
Content Rules page: under Program Type select Live Events.
Optionally open Select Event Genres from Genres list and pick the genres to include.
Set Minutes Before Event Start Time (leave 0 for live now, or enter a value to include soon-to-start events).
Display Rules page: set Maximum items in the swimlane and the poster orientation.
Finish the wizard and publish the tree to make the swimlane live.
Choosing a Program Type clears the Start From Current Channel option, which applies only to Channel Ordering swimlanes.
Live Events can also be used as a child of a Mixed swimlane; in that case only Live Events and Events by Genres are offered.
Because the swimlane is rule-driven, its contents change over time as the linear schedule progresses.
